Finally Apple released iOS 6. After months of spreading news how great new iOS will be we can install it. So, was it really worth waiting and is it really that great as Apple tried to tell us past few months?
Well, in my opinion upgrade wasn’t that great as probably Apple would like to and there are still basic features missing on iPad. Here is what I didn’t like…
- First of all Apple still didn’t come up with this great idea of incorporating Calculator application for iPad. I guess it is very difficult to develop such an application and probably not many people would use it on iPad 🙂
- Newsstand icon still can’t be placed in application group (don’t really know why as having this icon will not force me to buy any magazines, just another annoyance).
- Google maps are replaced with TomTom powered maps (why is that? are GMaps really that bad?).
- YouTube player is gone… that was expected, however still can’t understand what was thinking and driver behind that. Only reason I can think of is to make YouTube access more difficult and annoy people.
- AppStore lost Categories icon, so now we have only Features, Charts, Genius (is it really?), Purchased and Updates. Well, I guess nobody wants to browse applications anymore. Of course application descriptions are less convinient to read, but well. Why would anyone read applicationd escription?
These are main things I noticed after first look (10 minutes after upgrade), so not impressed, unfortunately.
